This road project is a portion of Section 13 of National Route 1. The road to be rehabilitated includes two interchanges in the road. The National Route 1 forms parts of the main route between the southern and northern parts of the Republic of South Africa. Upgrading of adjacent short sections of two junctions roads is also included in the project.

Elawini Lifestyle Estate: Civil Engineering Infrastructure
Internal Civil Engineering services for Elawini Lifestyle Estate (522 Residential 1 stands and five Residential 2 stands) and bulk water supply pipelines will be installed under this project. Internal Civil Engineering Infrastructure will comprise surfaced (tar) roads with associated stormwater drainage facilities, a water reticulation supplying water to each stand and a waterborne sewer system.
